Gadberry
April 3, 1933 – January 5, 2023
J.C. Gadberry, age 89, a long time Stringtown, OK resident, was born on Monday, April 3, 1933, he was the son of Roy and Opal (Jackson) Gadberry, at Sharon, OK. J.C. passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at his home in Stringtown, OK. J.C. graduated from Arapho High School. He later attended Draughons Business School in Wichita Falls, TX, as well as Chriswell Bible College and numerous trade schools. J.C. was an electrician, machinist, welder, carpenter, roofer, a jack of all trades, and a master of all. J.C. proudly served his country in the United States Army. He married Ruth Brewster on Sunday, August 9th, 1953 at Elk City, OK. They spent 69 1/2 years together. J.C. was a deacon at First Baptist Church of Stringtown. He was a supportive member of the Gideons for many years. He enjoyed drinking coffee and eating peanut butter cookies. After retiring he loved going on mission trips to build churches, church cabins, and looking for arrowheads along creek beds.
J.C. is survived by his wife, Ruth (Brewster) Gadberry of the home; children, Beth Gutierrez and husband Ray of Stringtown, OK, Jan Barfield and husband Ken of Bennington, OK, Roy Gadberry and wife Kathy of Stringtown, OK; grandchildren, Sonny Ray Robinson, David Robinson and wife Lesley, Dionna Kennedy and husband Thomas, Jaci Bates, Jay Barfield and wife Sasha, Jakeb Barfield and wife Jeannie, Jaelin Baker and husband Dustin, Zackary Gadberry and wife Amber; great grandchildren, Basel, Jordan, Preslie, Kaelin, Rhylar, Jace, Jarret, Jadyn (Pickle), Davin, Zane, Maddox, Gunner, Westyn, Brooklyn, Carter, Taylor, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and many dear and loved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Opal (Jackson) Gadberry; in-laws, Ed and Bea Brewster; sisters, Marie, Roylene, Polly, Junie; great grandson, Mason Barfield, along with other relatives.
