J C Germany was born on December 25, 1934, to Earnestine Louis Houchin and Clyde Germany. He spent his youth in Atoka County. In 1954, he became a graduate of Atoka High School. JC was then drafted and served in the Army until March 28, 1957, when he was honorable discharged.
He then attended New Mexico State University, achieving his Bachelor's, Masters, and began doctoral work in Conservation Wildlife, working for the University of New Mexico and the state of New Mexico doing research in Gila Wilderness, with a focus on long horn sheep. During this time, he married and had four children Billy Germany (deceased), Jenny Lynn Williams, James Clyde Germany, Jr. (Jim), and Justin Wesley Germany. The family moved to Florida, where he was employed by the Florida Game and Fish Service continuing his conservation work in the everglades.
In the 70s, JC then relocated his family back to Oklahoma settling in the Atoka area. JC then worked for the State of Oklahoma Parks and Recreation Division for the next 28 years. He was the manager at the Lake Texoma Park and then Boggy Depot State Park. JC was also a US Marshall and an Oklahoma State Ranger. In 1997, J C retired from the state of Oklahoma where he enjoyed ranching and his wildlife.
During his years at Lake Texoma Park, he met and married Mary Sue Goodner. They married on December 24, 1980. JC and Sue have been married 38 years. J C had a great sense of humor and loved to pull pranks on family and friends. His hobbies were gardening, fishing and hunting. His great love was New Mexico.
JC is survived by his wife Sue of the home. His three children and their families, Jenny and Rick Williams from Boulder, WY. James Clyde Germany, Jr. and his wife Stephanie Libby MT, and Justin Germany and his wife Stacy, Madill, OK. His Grandchildren Blain Besso, Boulder, WY, Miles Lathrop and his wife Anna, Austin, MN, Dayln Germany, Libby MT, Micah Germany, Libby MT, Jacy Germany, Healdton, OK, and Jacob Germany, San Antonio Tx. He also had two step-children Charles Ray Goodner and his wife Marlena, Pauls Valley, OK and Dr. Deborah Combs, Joplin Mo. Step Grandchildren Maxie Combs, Dallas, TX, Matthew Combs, Stillwater, OK, Chase Goodner and wife Veronica Thackerville, OK, Teress Nugent and husband Dracy, Brooklyn, NY and Kyle Williams and wife Shelby, Rock Springs, WY. JC also had eight great grandchildren.
JC was preceded in death by his son William Germany, mother Ernestine Smith, father Clyde Germany, and his step-father Lee Smith.
