Jeannie Smith

Jeannie (Yates) Smith, age 81, a longtime Atoka, OK resident.

She was born on Sunday, May 13, 1945, to Odie and Bertha (Allen) Yates, at Lane, OK. Jeannie passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026 at her home in Atoka, OK. She attended Iron Stob School. Jeannie was a housekeeper for Thunderbird Lodge and other motels for many years and also worked at a hotel in Elk City. She married Leland Smith who preceded her in death. Jeannie enjoyed raising her kids, doing crossword puzzles, taking care of plants and animals and loved traveling.

Jeannie is survived by her sons, Raymond Williams of Henryetta, OK, Royal Williams of Crystal, OK ; daughters, Vannette Turner of Lane, OK, Janetta Dodson and husband Gene of Lane, OK, Quannah Watson of Oklahoma City, OK; brother, Doyal Yates of Tulsa, OK; sister, Karen Sands of Glenpool, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, Odie and Bertha (Allen) Yates; husband, Leland Smith; sons, Elton Williams, Kenneth Williams, Brook Smith.
