Obituary

Jerry Lee Taylor, age 52, a longtime Atoka, OK resident was raised in the Valliant, Wright City, Broken Bow area before moving to the Wilson Community. He was born on Sunday, October 3, 1971, to Roy Jr. and Wanda June "Jane" (Bowers) Taylor, at Perryton, TX. Jerry passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Atoka, OK. He attended Valliant and Wright City Schools and graduated from Wapanucka High School. Jerry was a farm laborer for a hog farm, worked at Pruett's Grocery and was presently working at Choctaw Travel Plaza in Stringtown as the third shift manager. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting with family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his siblings, Sherry Wiest and companion Vernon Thompson of Wilson Community, OK, Roy Taylor "Bud" III and wife Sharlet of Wilson Community, OK, Sheila Ann Reeves of Soper, OK; nieces and nephews, Jason Ray Taylor of Wilson Community, OK, Shakaula Gayle Melton and companion Bob of Wapanucka, OK, Alvin Dale Melton Jr. of Wilson Community, OK, Billy Joe Bunn Jr. and Amber Nichole of Atoka, OK, Jonathan Elliott Taylor and wife Tori of Wilson Community, OK, Shantel Taylor of Wilson Community, OK, Justin Dewayne Reeves of Soper, OK, James Riley Reeves and wife Frances of Ft. Towson, OK; along with great nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Wanda June "Jane" Taylor Jr.; brothers in law, Johnny Reeves, Joe Bunn; niece, Heather Taylor; step mom, Cassie Taylor.
