Jesse Ross Dewbery, age 83, a lifelong Bromide, OK resident, was born on Saturday, March 27, 1937, to Oscar Alton and Cora (Taylor) Dewbery, at Bromide, OK. Jesse passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at his home in Bromide, OK. He attended Bromide School and Prairie View School near Bromide. Jesse worked for the pipeline. He started as a laborer and worked his way to strawboss where he worked in that position for 40 years before he retired. He married Judy Zierk in 1954 and later married JoAnn (Schaffer) on Saturday, October 29th, 1966 at Elgin, IL. JoAnn preceded him in death. Jesse was a member of Wilson Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on his old cars, car shows, his cattle, fishing, and loved being with his family and friends. Jesse was a wheeler-dealer and always looked for a bargain. He loved his 57 Chevy.
Jesse is survived by his children, Mark Dewbery of Bromide, OK, Linda Dewbery of Warner Robins, GA, Mary Morgan and husband Dennis of Wapanucka, OK, Mike Brooks of Bromide, OK, Donald Brooks of Durant, OK, Bobby Brooks and wife Linda of Midwest City, OK; sisters, Jannette Wilson and husband Jerry of Antlers, OK, Zelda Pate and husband Terry of Antlers, OK; sister-in-law, Linda Dewbery of Bromide, OK; grandchildren, Jesse Dewbery and wife Crystal of Wapanucka, OK, Joe Morgan of Broken Arrow, OK, Audrey Rochell and husband Colby of Lake Jackson, TX, Jacob Morgan of Seabrook, TX, Jennifer Keeling and husband Shane of Vanoss, OK; great granddaughter, River Dewbery of Wapanucka, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Jesse was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Dewbery; son, Steve Dewbery; daughter, Julie Dewbery; parents, Oscar Alton and Cora (Taylor) Dewbery; brothers, Robert, Thurman, Lester, Arthur and Victor Dewbery; sisters, Annette Nichols, Nelda Henry, Joy Marie Dewbery.
