Jessie Lee Childers, age 70, a longtime resident of Caney and Caddo, OK area, was born on Tuesday, March 27, 1951, to Rufus and Viola (Walker) Childers, at Caney, OK. Jessie passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 at his home in Caney, OK surrounded by his loved ones. He attended school in Caney. Jessie worked in highway construction. The last 25 years he worked for Metts Brothers Inc as a line clearance foreman. He married Anita Kay (Gray) on April 7th, 1989 in Sherman, TX. They celebrated 32 years of marriage before his passing. Jessie was of the Freewill Baptist faith. He loved being in his yard, (that perfect grass), taking care of his cows and land. You would always see him with a mason jar of sweet tea (Uncle Jessie sweet), most of all he loved spending time with his family and mostly his grandchildren.
Jessie is survived by his wife, Anita Childers of the home in Caney, OK; children, Tashina Rashelle Childers of Caney, OK, Shelby Lee Childers of Caney, OK, Chanelle Chrie Childers of Durant, OK, Dustin Ray Upchurch of Tushka, OK; grandchildren, Kristen Dean and husband Blake of Coleman, OK, Zac Cole of Paris, TX, Mitchell Cole of Galveston, TX, Kenan Fox of Caney, OK, Tayten Upchurch and wife Kenzie of Caney, OK, Kolten Childers of Caney, OK, Kaylee Upchurch of Tushka, OK, Shylor Swaney of Tushka, OK, Stoni Upchurch of Tushka, OK, Maizen and Maci Owens; great grandchildren, Braxton and Silas Dean of Coleman, OK, Chandler and Cayson Cole of Paris, Tx, Emry Cole of Galveston, TX; siblings, Ruby Rhodes of Caddo, OK, Bertha Childress of Caddo, OK, Shirley Standridge of Caddo, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Viola (Walker) Childers; brothers, Rufus Childers Jr., James Childers; mother and father in law, Kenneth and Frances Gray; brother in laws, Dale Ladd, Danny Hattenhauer; sister in law, Darla Goodson.
