Jimmy "Jim" Blaine Pool, age 83, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was born on Thursday, March 7, 1935, to Arthur and Thelma Gertrude (Horsely) Pool, at Earlsboro, OK. Jim passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018 at his residence in Atoka, OK. He attended Atoka High School and graduated in 1953 then went on to attended college.  Jim was a United States Air Force Pilot and a local business owner for many years.  Jim proudly served his country as a pilot in The United States Air Force. He served during the Vietnam war and retired as a Lt. Colonel. He married Geneva Maggard on Friday, August 17th, 1956 at Sneedville, TN. They shared 59 wonderful years together before her passing on September 22, 2015. Jim attended Southside Baptist Church and was a member of The Oklahoma Masonic Lodge No. 4. He enjoyed golf, flying, spending time with his grandchildren, spending time on the water, fishing, armadillo hunting, visiting, and singing in the choir.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Teresa Parton and husband Robert of Waskom, TX, Diana Pool of Atoka, OK, Linda Garside of Atoka, OK; granddaughters, Lynsay Smith and husband Jimmy of Denton, TX, Maggie Houchen of Houston, TX, Amber Hill and husband Tyrell of Atoka, OK, Amanda Lott and husband Greg of Oklahoma City, OK, Miranda Alcantar-Hutson and husband Clint of St. Louise, MO,  Jessica Howard and husband Timothy of Atoka, OK; grandson, James Ash-Houchen and husband Will of Aubrey, TX; great grandchildren, Taylor Crowson, Tanor Crowson, Tilar Crowson, Jayde Lott, Aidan Lott, Geneva Smith, Courtney Hill, Tyrell Hill Jr., Amairah Hill, Aven Hill, Chloe Hill; great great grandbaby, Brooklyn Davenport; nephews, Michael Foutch of Edmond, OK, Shane Corotto of Oklahoma City, OK.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Thelma Gertrude (Horsely) Pool; wife, Geneva Pool; daughter, Nageala Hutson; sisters, Anna Lee Ray and Bertha Marie Corotto; brother, Arthur Ray Pool; nephews, Gary Leonard and Bill Foutch.
