Jimmy Doyle Southard, age 63, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was born on Saturday, September 27, 1958, to Doyle Lee and Patsy Ann (Mayfield) Southard, at McAlester, OK. Jimmy passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Morris, OK. He graduated from Antlers High School in 1976. He later attended Cleet School. Jimmy worked as a correction officer for 17 years and then was an administrative assistant for 13 years for the Department of Corrections where he retired after 30 years of service.
He married Cheryl Hall Southard on Saturday, August 7th, 1999 at Atoka, OK. They celebrated 23 years of marriage.
Jimmy was a member of Blackjack Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, riding the tractor, clearing land, anything outdoors watching western movies, listening to country music, was a football fan, enjoyed watching Nascar races, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Cheryl Hall Southard of the home in Tushka, OK; children, Jay Southard of Arlington, TX, Krista Ramirez and husband Adelino of Moore, OK; grandchildren, Mariana Ramirez of Moore, OK, Demian Ramirez of Tushka, OK, Hannah Southard of Antlers, OK; mother, Patsy Gonzales of McAlester, OK; niece, Lindsey Alvarez of McAlester, OK; cousin, Joe McBee and wife Brenda of McAlester, OK; along with other relatives and many dear friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Southard; sister, Patty Southard.
