Joe Bill Greenwood Sr., age 90, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident. He was born on Monday, March 20, 1933, to Henry P. and Blanche (Bailey) Greenwood, at Atoka, OK. Joe passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Durant, OK. He attended Dunbar Grade School and graduated from Atoka High School. Joe worked 58 years for the City of Atoka in the public works department before his retirement in 1994.  Joe proudly served his country in The National Guard during the Korean Conflict. He married Willie May Yarbrough on May 24, 1966 in Atoka, OK. They celebrated 33 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 1999. Joe was a member of Atoka First Baptist Church, enjoyed walking, watching western movies, fishing, hunting, playing basketball and baseball, and visiting with his family and friends.
Joe is survived by his children, David Wilson of Atoka, OK, Victor Ray Greenwood of Atoka, OK, Joe Bill Greenwood Jr. of Atoka, OK, Patricia Greenwood and fiancé Roosevelt Jones of Atoka, OK, Christopher Greenwood and wife Delia of Coalgate, OK, Eric Greenwood of Atoka, OK; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Raymond Brooks of Atoka, OK, Rosemary Harrison of Atoka, OK, Patsy Brooks of Atoka, OK, Carl Brooks of Atoka, OK, Dina Lois Brooks of Atoka, OK, Tim Brooks and wife Yolonda of Atoka, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Blanche (Bailey) Greenwood, Ruth Greenwood Brooks; wife, Willie May Greenwood; great grandchild, Khalil Jacobs; brother, Ray Brooks; sister, Ruth Brooks.
