John Franklin Costiloe, age 94, a longtime Wapanucka, OK resident. He was born on November 14, 1924, to Wiggins and Effie Ione (Reese) Costiloe at Tishomingo, OK.
John passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at Durant, OK. He graduated from Coleman High School where he enjoyed playing basketball and baseball.
He fed and raised cows and quarter horses daily and baled alfalfa and Bermuda hay. He worked for Oklahoma Cooperative Commission as a Field Inspector for over 30 years from August 1968 to September 1998.
John married Anna "Geraldine" Lee on December 16, 1946 at Wapanucka, OK. They celebrated 72 years of marriage before her passing on March 13, 2019.
He was a longtime member of Wapanucka Methodist Church until its closing and thereafter attended First Baptist Church of Wapanucka. John enjoyed quarter horse racing and was famous for raising big gardens and sharing with the whole town. He loved Wapanucka and the people. He was a character and was always joining with people.
John is survived by his daughter, Donna Costiloe of Wapanucka, OK; son, Kent Costiloe and wife Carrie of Wapanucka, OK; grandsons, John Logan Costiloe of Durant, OK, Matthew Costiloe of Durant, OK, Dale Costiloe of Wapanucka, OK; granddaughter, Suzanne Johnson and husband Jerry of Coleman, OK; great grandchildren, Kenlynn Costiloe of Durant, OK, Matti Costiloe of Wapanucka, OK, Rance Wheeler of Oklahoma City, OK, Jayton Johnson of Coleman, OK; Along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many close, dear loved friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Wig and Effie Costiloe; wife, Geraldine Costiloe; son, Ronnie Costiloe; sisters, Helen Berry, Thelma Williams; brothers, Joe Costiloe, Kenneth Costiloe.
