John Wayne Jackson, age 75, a lifelong Atoka County, OK resident. He was born on Thursday, March 31, 1949, to Virgil Lee and Dovie Lorene (Wood) Jackson, at Atoka, OK. Wayne passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Atoka, OK. He attended and graduated from Tushka Public Schools with the Class of '67. Wayne was a truck driver and worked for Atoka Feed and Seed for 50 years. Wayne proudly served his country in The National Guard. He married Carla (Leuty) on Wednesday, July 6th, 1977 at Tushka Baptist Church, in Tushka, Oklahoma. They enjoyed 47 years together before his passing. Shane Hamilton brought Wayne to know the Lord. He loved working, woodworking, raising cattle, and his job as a truck driver hauling cows. He was very good at dominoes and was very competitive. He never let Carla win. His grandkids were his joy and he loved to spoil them.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Carla Jackson of the home in Bentley, OK; daughter, Robin Banks and husband Ricky of Atoka, OK; son, Cody Jackson and wife Alyssa of Atoka, OK; grandsons, Matthew Begley and wife Jennifer of Caddo, OK, Trevor Begley of Atoka, OK, Tader Jackson of Atoka, OK, Pepper Jackson of Atoka, OK, Jacob Hyde of Atoka, OK, Rack Jackson of Atoka, OK, Reckett Jackson of Atoka, OK; granddaughter, Madyson Leeper and husband Tony of Weatherford, OK, Fanci Navarro of Atoka, OK; great grandkids, Kaden Begley, Lucie Jackson; brother, Jerry Jackson and wife Bonnie of Tushka, OK; along with numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Dovie Lorene (Wood) Jackson; brothers, Dale Eddie Jackson, Donald Ray Jackson, Virgil Lee Roy Jackson; sister in law, Barbra Jackson; parents in law, O.P. and Nellie Leuty.
