John Earl Mayo, age 60, A Calera, OK resident. He was born on Monday, March 27, 1962, to Harvey and Mary Joyce (Settlemire) Mayo, at Dalhart, TX. John passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Durant, OK. He attended Bentley, Atoka, and Calera schools. John was a carpenter. John proudly served his country in The Oklahoma National Guard. He was of the Baptist faith. John loved tinkering with old cars and riding motorcycles, and loved his dogs Hammer and Bailey.
John was survived by his mother, Mary Mayo of Calera, OK; children, Kandra Dodd and husband Ron of Kenefic, OK, Amanda Ned of Madill, OK; grandchildren, Auston Springer and wife Brittany of Kenefic, OK, Brittany Ned and fiance Jacob Wright of Durant, OK, Ashleigh Ned of Madill, OK, Haydon Springer of Kenefic, OK; great grandchildren, Brooklynn Dancer, Blakelee Wright; brothers, Melvin Mayo and wife Debbie of Oklahoma City, OK, Wesley Mayo of Henryetta, OK, Steven Mayo of Bentley, OK; sister, Harvie June Martin of Kiefer, OK, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other dear relatives and friends.
He was preceded by his father, Harvey Mayo Jr.; grandparents, Harvey Mayo Sr. and Florence Mayo, Lewis Settlemire and Clara Bell Settlemire; ex-wife, Karla Taylor; aunts, Ethel Jean Davis, Merlene Blankenship; cousins, Keith Mayo, Cheyenne Mayo; brother in law, Benny Martin
