John Anthony Townley, age 73, a longtime Stringtown, OK resident, was born on Thursday, May 13, 1948, to John William and Alvie Mattie (Harrison) Townley, at Wichita Falls, TX. John passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at his home in Stringtown, OK. He attended Norman Grade School and Moore High School. John was a mechanic, he enjoyed working on all autos. John served his country in United Marine Corps. He married Leona (Brannum) on Saturday, February 9th, 1974 at Fredrick, OK. They celebrated 48 years of marriage. John enjoyed working on cars, playing guitar, hunting, fishing and being with his family.
John is survived by his wife, Leona Townley of the home in Stringtown, OK; son, John Harrison Townley and fiancé Brooklyn Neal of Stringtown, OK; daughter, Amy Jensen and husband Chuck of Manatou, OK; grandchildren, Saddie Jensen of Manatou, OK, Robert Eugene Townley of Pine Bluff, AR; along with siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alvie Mattie (Harrison) Townley; aunts and uncles; grandparents.
