Johnny Lee Miller, age 75, a lifelong Stringtown, OK resident, was born on Sunday, January 2, 1944, to Frank Cody and Noweta (Jackson) Miller, at Durant, OK. Johnny passed away on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Ada, OK.
He graduated from Stringtown High School and attended Officer Candidate School in Ft. Benning, GA. Johnny retired as a union plumber. Johnny proudly served his country in The U.S. Army Reserve and was later transferred to Oklahoma National Guard. He earned the Oklahoma Distinguished Service Cross for Bravery. He married Patsy Case on December 25, 1964 at Bentley, OK. Johnny was a member of Stringtown Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing the guitar, leatherworking and fishing, , mostly spending time fishing with his sons.
Johnny is survived by his sons, John Miller and wife Christie of Stringtown, OK, Shawn Miller and wife Charity of Stringtown, OK; brothers, Mike Miller and wife Cleta of Atoka, OK, Philip Miller and wife Marcia of Stringtown, OK; sister, Colette Harper and husband Dr. Ben of Stringtown, OK; grandchildren, Linsday Miller of Atoka, OK, Ethan Miller of Mustang, OK, Cody Miller of Stringtown, OK, Ruby Miller of Stringtown, OK, Hannah Ryan of Stringtown, OK, Lillian Ryan of Stringtown, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Cody and Noweta (Jackson) Miller.
