Johnny Marion Reeves, age 90, a longtime Stringtown, OK resident, was born on Saturday, December 21, 1929, to Robert and Lillian Leaona (Head) Reeves, at Caddo, OK.  Johnny passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at his home in Stringtown, OK. He attended Franklin in Caddo and other rural schools and graduated from Atoka High School.
Johnny was a rancher, logger and ran the sawmill. In 1947 Johnny was awarded the OSU Golden Glove Champion. He also work for Oklahoma Wildlife Deptment, trapping and relocating wildlife. He married Betty Ruth (Goff) on Saturday, January 15th, 1949 at Sherman, TX. They celebrated 71 years of marriage. Johnny attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, being outdoors, his cattle and loved spending time with his family.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Betty Ruth Reeves of the home in Stringtown, OK; daughter, Sharon Givens and husband Bill of Stringtown, OK; sons, Jay Reeves and wife LaJoy of Stringtown, OK, Billy Reeves and wife Loretta of Stringtown, OK; grandchildren, Ricky Givens of Durant, OK, Bryan Givens of Stringtown, OK, Tommy Givens and wife Ashley of Atoka, OK, Marshall Reeves of Stringtown, OK, Amy Reeves of Stringtown, OK, Julie Reeves of Stringtown, OK, Chad Reeves and wife Shelly of Stringtown, OK, Emily Smoot and husband T.J. of Atoka, OK; sister, Elaine Reeves Heard and husband Jimmie of Coleman, OK; granddaughters in law, Nancy Givens of Stringtown, OK, Rhonda Givens of Stringtown, OK; great grandchildren, Dusty and Sharawn Givens, Heather Givens, Brittany and Morgan McBride, Wesley Givens, Easton Garcia, Brody Armstrong, Landon and London Reeves, Lilly and Ally Smoot; great great grandchildren, Kinsler and Whitley Givens, Wyatt McBride; along with other relatives and many dear friends.  Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillian Leaona (Head) Reeves; sister, Bernice Thomas; brother in law, Elmo Thomas.
