Joyce Larnell (Merritt) Huffman, age 85, a lifelong Caney, OK area resident, was born on Saturday, October 20, 1934, to James Lee and Beulah Beatrice (McBride) Merritt, at Caney, OK. Joyce passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at her home in Atoka, OK. She graduated from Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur, OK. Joyce was a seamstress at Ethan Allen Manufacturing in Atoka. She married Albert Medscar Huffman on Saturday, June 4th, 1955 at Sulphur, OK. They celebrated 26 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on April 23, 1981. Joyce was a member of Caney Pentecostal Church.
Joyce is survived by her children, Jerry Huffman of Caney, OK, Paul Huffman and wife Rhonda of Caney, OK, Darla Delay and husband Harold of Caney, OK, Kathy Huffman of Caney, OK; grandchildren, Amy Huffman, Brad Huffman, Tiffany Crupe, Brandon Crupe, Whitney Bagby, Kaitlyn Delay, Darci Yarbrough, Trenton Delay, Gabrielle Huffman; 18 great grandchildren; brother, Thomas Merritt and wife Judy of Caney, OK; aunt, Irene Merritt of Coalgate, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, James Lee and Beulah Beatrice (McBride) Merritt; husband, Albert Huffman; brother, Larry Merritt; granddaughter, Abby Delay; daughter in law, Paula Huffman; great granddaughter, Morgan Flynn.
