Juana Lee (Yates) Grubbs, age 84, a Midwest City, OK resident was born on Saturday, January 7, 1939, to Walter and Elizabeth Ruby (Willeby) Yates, at Caddo, OK. Juana passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Midwest City, OK. She attended Caney High School where she loved playing basketball. Juana was a Quality Control Inspector with General Motors for over 20 years. She married Lester William Grubbs in 1956 at Gridley, CA. They fell in love in California before moving to Shawnee to make their home. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before his passing on November 21, 2017. Juana enjoyed attending church with her grandmother in Caney, later she was one of the founding members of Crossover Church in Moore, OK. She loved working, taking care of land, being a grandmother, and was very proud of all of her children, and grandchildren.
Juana is survived by her son, Mark Grubbs and wife Rita of Midwest City, OK; daughter, Tonya Carpenter and husband Tim of Midwest City, OK; brother, Byron Yates of Caney, OK; sister, Pam Nutter of Caney, OK, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grands; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ruby (Willeby) Yates; husband, Lester William Grubbs; brother, Robert Bobby Yates; sisters, Sybil Adams, Noble Blankenship; son, Timothy William Grubbs; daughter, Shiela Hill; grandson, Tyler Don Carpenter; nephew, Tony Adams
