Judith "Judy" Ann James, age 79, a longtime Atoka, OK resident. She was born on Saturday, August 21, 1943, to George Washington and Vera Crystal (Gray) Wilson, at Cedar Falls, IA. Judy passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Atoka, OK. She graduated from school in Quasqueton, IA and went on to get certified in cosmetology. Judy was a beautician and housewife and homemaker. She married Everett Earl James on Monday, March 30th, 1964 at Waterloo, IA. They enjoyed 36 wonderful years of marriage before his passing on Thanksgiving day of 2000. Judy was a member of Victory Life Church in Atoka. She enjoyed yard sales, anything crafting, fishing, taking care of her house plants, and loved being around her children and grandchildren, loved her dog Cappy and was a huge Elvis fan.
Judy is survived by her children, Zina Lacy and husband Eric of Haworth, OK, Everett James and wife Kristie of Tushka, OK, Darla Jackson of Atoka, OK, Leta James and husband DeMarco of Broken Bow, OK, Crystal James of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Kenneth, Jason, Tessa, J.D., Andy, Halee, Taylor, Katelyn, Lyndee, Jacob, Rhiannon, Taraysha, Corbin, Rian, Laurel, Juvelle, Leland, Garrick; great grandchildren, Cindy, Beau, Drew, Zaylee, Zaidan, Zander, Adonis, Ares, Abby, Coupr, Hazel, Darrien, Jason, Jaquari, Alexis, Dakota; sister, Mary Lou Schmit; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, George Washington and Vera Crystal (Gray) Wilson; husband, Everett Earl James; daughter, Cindy Walker; son in law, Robert "Jeff" Jackson; special cousin, Betty Hoofenagle.
