Judy Kay (Johnson) Maggard, age 77, a lifelong Crystal - Boswell, OK area resident. She was born on Wednesday, August 13, 1947, to J.W. and Nellie Mae (Anderson) Johnson, at Crystal, OK. Judy passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at her home in Boswell, OK. She attended Boehler Grade School and Atoka High School. Judy worked as a waitress and cook in area businesses, a teacher's aide in California and a home health aide back in Oklahoma. She married Roy Mendoza on August 15, 1966 in Reno, NV, he preceded her in death in 1994 after 28 years of marriage. She later married Stanley Maggard on December 21, 1996 in Crystal, OK, he preceded her in death on November 11, 2011 after over 15 years of marriage. Judy was a member of Crystal Baptist Church and was a leader of the After Church Lunch Group, President of board of directors of The Crystal Fire Dept, was very active and President of the Boehler Community Center where she cooked and whatever needed to be done for the center. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word search, gardening, canning, cooking, sewing, quilting and loved visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved very much.
Judy is survived by her children, Troy Lee Mendoza of Lane, OK, Shawnee Phillips and husband Kenneth of Crystal, OK; grandchildren, Marissa Phillips, Shea Phillips, Kenley Phillips, Zachary Mendoza, Crystal Casey; great grandchildren, Blakley, Kamri, Conner, Baylor, Braxton; siblings, Fay Gaskey of Canton, TX, John Johnson and wife Becky of Crystal, OK, Edna Eldridge of Tushka, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Nellie Mae (Anderson) Johnson; husbands, Roy Mendoza, Stanley Maggard; siblings, Kenneth Staneart, Margret Jackson, Linda Sue Johnson.
