BORN: He was born on Saturday, August 19, 1934, to John and Emma Rachel (McElroy) Reed, at Enterpise, OK. PASSED AWAY: J.W passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Wapanucka, OK. AGE: 79 years, 11 months and 25 days. EDUCATION: He went to Planview Elementary graduated, from Wapanucka High School and attended Murray State, he was in the ROTC. OCCUPATION: J.W was a lifelong Rancher and horse trader. He was Johnston County Dist 2 County Commissioner for 27 years and worked in the loan office at Landmark Bank MARRIED: He married Alma Wanet Hurt on January 31, 1954 in Tishomingo, OK. She precedes him in death on October 30, 2007. CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: J.W was a longtime member of Wapanucka Church of Christ. He was member of Oklahoma County Commissioner Association, Co-founder of Wapanucka Cattleman Association, American Quarter Horse Association, Johnston Co. Riding Club., Caney Red Relay Racing Association. J.W. was a Team Penner. and won the World Champion Relay Racing at Canyon, TX in 1972. SURVIVED BY SPECIAL FRIEND: Glenda McBride of Caney, OK.
