Kenneth "Wig" Ray Walker, age 87, a lifelong Atoka County, OK resident. He was born in a log cabin on Wednesday, November 21, 1938, to Clarence Houston and Mary Louise (White) Walker, at Caney, OK. Kenneth passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Coalgate, OK. He attended and graduated from Caney Public School, he then went on to SOSU where he received his Bachelor's and Master's. He later received his Doctorate from Texas A&M. Kenneth "Wig" was a math educator for several different schools, Tushka, Boswell, Caney, Kemp, Bradley and Atoka. He then moved into administration and Superintendent duties. He married Dovie (Combest) on Saturday, September 7th, 1957 at Caney First Baptist Church in Caney, OK. They celebrated over 68 years of marriage before his passing. Kenneth "Wig" attended Caney First Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, reading, writing stories, drawing and was a big sports fan. He loved to travel, enjoyed farm work, taking care of wildlife (taking care of all animals), watching animals, picking persimmons, researching trees loved flowers and loved spending time with his family.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Dovie Walker of the home in Tushka, OK; daughter, Ranell Walker of Tushka, OK; son, Randy Walker and wife Donalda of Tushka, OK; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Clarence "Jack" Houston Walker Jr. and wife Thea of Caney, OK, Thomas "Bo" Walker and wife Sharon of Caney, OK; sister, Vickie Blackburn and husband Roy of Caney, OK; sister-in-law, Janice Walker; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Houston and Mary Louise (White) Walker; daughter, Melanie Prince; son in law, David Prince; siblings, Lonnie Walker, Shirley Willis, Faye O'Hern; brothers in law, Perry Willis, Bob O'Hern.
