Ladonia Beatrice (Henderson) Birchfield, age 89, a longtime Atoka resident, was raised in Atoka County, moved to Oklahoma City for 20 years and then moved back to Farris, OK. She was born on September 01, 1934, to Thomas and Ernestine (Cockrell) Henderson, at Farris, OK. Beatrice passed away on November 28, 2023 at Atoka, OK. She attended Centerpoint and Farris Grade Schools and graduated from Atoka High School. Beatrice was a housewife and homemaker and was a hair dresser for over 40 years in Oklahoma City and Atoka. Beatrice married Bunnie Franklin Birchfield on May 1, 1953. They celebrated 70 years of marriage before his passing on August 21, 2023. She was a member of Farris Baptist Church. Beatrice enjoyed being a hairdresser, loved her grandchildren, and loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys while talking on the phone to Bunnie Sue and hollering at each other.
Beatrice is survived by her daughter, Bunnie Sue Coleman and husband Scott of Henderson, TX; son, Shawn Birchfield and wife Brandi of Farris, OK; grandchildren, Lindsi Root, Chance Coleman, Brynn Birchfield, Shay Birchfield; great grandchildren, William, Harper, and Lenin Root, Bentley Hughes and Brayleigh Coleman; sister, Ruth Vickers and husband Dick and children of Virginia; brother in law, James Curtis and children of McCloud, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Denby Henderson and Ernestine (Cockrell) Thomas; husband, Bunnie Franklin Birchfield; sisters, Syble Henderson, Betty Curtis; in laws, Jay and Ophelia Birchfield.
