Larry Dale Pruitt, age 70, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was born on Wednesday, January 17, 1951, to Clyde H. and Katie (Smith) Pruitt, at Ada, OK. Larry passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Atoka, OK. He graduated from Atoka High School and then on to receive a Bachelor's Degree from ECU with a major in Math and a minor in Physics and Computer Science. Larry owned and ran Pruitt Oil Company for many years with his father and then with his sons. He married Mary Jane (Fisher) on Saturday, December 29th, 1973 at St. Paul Methodist Church in Sulphur, OK.
Larry was a member of First United Methodist Church in Atoka. He enjoyed gardening, ceramics, yard work and seeing his customers at the store.
Larry is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Pruitt of the home in Atoka, OK; sons, Robert Pruitt and wife Cheryl of Atoka, OK, Jonathan Pruitt of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Bryson Pruitt-McGregor and fiancé Chrisenda Olivieri of Atoka, OK; Robert and Brody McCoy of Atoka, OK; sister, Virginia Stenhouse and husband David of Blanchard, OK; nephews, Mark Moreland and wife Rose of Wichita, KS, Michael Moreland and wife Brandy of Elgin, OK; along with other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Katie (Smith) Pruitt; father and mother in law, Myron Augusta Fisher and Bessie Fisher.
