Lena Sue (Banks) Hunter, age 62, a longtime Lane, OK resident, was raised in Oklahoma City and moved back to Atoka County around 1973, was born on Sunday, March 15, 1959, to James Monroe and Ella Mae (Walker) Banks, at Bentley, OK. Lena passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Denison, TX. She attended Oklahoma City High School. Lena was a field administrator for Chapman Construction and Hargrave Power Line Company for 17 years. She married Larry Hunter in 1982 at Greenville, TX. They celebrated 40 years of marriage before her passing. Lena was raised of the Baptist faith and was affiliated with Church of the Rock. She loved kids, especially her grandchildren, flowers, gardening, feeding her deer and cats and anything with being outdoors.
Lena is survived by her husband, Larry Hunter of the home in Lane, OK; children, Justin Hunter and wife Talitha of Lane, OK, Heather Brooks and husband David of Harmony, OK; grandchildren, Charly Shores Hunter, Sebastian Hunter Brooks, Melayna Iris Brooks; sisters, Joann Danderson of Atoka, OK, Mae Tannehill and husband Richard of Oklahoma City, OK, Brenda Armstrong and husband Paul of Caney, OK; brothers, Bud Banks and wife Lona of Tushka, OK, Sammy Banks of Tushka, OK, Rickey Banks and wife Robin of Tushka, OK; special nieces, Carla Tannehill, Meagan Tannehill; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Lena was preceded in death by her parents, James Monroe and Ella Mae (Walker) Banks; brothers, Sherman Banks, Eugene Banks.
