Leona (Cole) Sandberg, age 97, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, previously of Bakersfield, CA., was born on Sunday, February 10, 1918, to William and Millie (Phillips) Cole, at Atoka, OK. Leona passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Atoka, OK. Leona worked at a canning factory in California. She married John Allen in 1935 in Atoka, OK., then Leona married Bob Sandberg on January 7, 1948 in Oakland, CA. Leona enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Leona is survived by her daughter, Dollie Zimmermann and husband Fred of Waterloo, Canada; grandsons, Dan Zimmermann and wife Theresa of Waterloo, Canada, Dave Zimmerman and wife Annette of Virginia; granddaughter, Mary-Ann Willett and husband Dean of South Carolina.; sister, Dora Mitchell of Atoka, OK. along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends Leona is preceded in death by her parents, William and Millie (Phillips) Cole; brothers, Albert Cole, Lewis Cole ; sisters, Ledonia Pelts, and Wanda Cole.
