Linda Darlene McKinney

Linda Darlene McKinney, of Bandera Texas, passed away in her home on June 17, 2017. Born in Stringtown Oklahoma on July 15 1947, she was 69 years old.   A long time resident of Stringtown, Darlene served Atoka County for over 35 years as a registered nurse, working first at Atoka County Hospital and then retiring from Mack Alford Correction Center.  After her retirement, she moved to Bandera Texas to enjoy Medina Lake and the Texas wildlife.

She is survived by her five children:  Linda Hughston and husband Shaun of Stringtown

Stephen Kennedy and Wife Brenda of Stringtown

Nancy Thompson of Stringtown

David Todd Kennedy of Stringtown

Misty Thomas and husband Jason of San Antonio, Texas

Three Brothers:    Doug Howard and wife Linda of Atoka,

Dwight Howard of Stringtown and

Michael Howard of Stringtown

One Sister: Donna Young of Atoka

11 grand children, Justin, Teisa, Brettney, Chasity, Byron, Jennifer, Cambria, Shondale, Draven, Harley, Joah; 14 great-grand children, Lydia, Mabre, Roy, Lily, Trapper, Ciara, Hazzie, Whisper, Stalin, Christian, Victoria, Billy, Morgan, Maci; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death her parents: Ellis and Ethelyn Howard

Brothers: Carl Davis Howard and Dale Howard

Sister: Dorothy Stewart

Husband: Johnny Myers

Great granddaughter: Ruby Sharp

SERVICE:  Memorial service is Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Stringtown, Oklahoma

INTERMENT:  Mt. Olive Cemetery, Stringtown, Oklahoma
