Obituary

Lizzie "Dorothy" Lou LeFlore, age 82, an Atoka, OK resident, was born on Sunday, May 11, 1941, to William Lewis and Tracy Lillie (Taylor) Peters, at Talihina, OK. Dorothy passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Durant, OK. She attended Lane Public School. Dorothy was a clerk for Three Arrows Restaurant and Grill. She attended Double Springs Church and Cumberland Presbyterian. Dorothy enjoyed crossword books, making flower arrangements, watching Wheel Of Fortune, reading the newspaper, people watching, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane Gibson of Atoka, OK, Stephanie LeFlore of Atoka, OK; son, Calvin LeFlore of Mannsford, OK; special granddaughters, Miranda Hightower and husband John of Spencer, OK, Carissa Merritt of Atoka, OK, Victoria LeFlore of Talihina, OK; special friend, Janice Jones of Atoka, OK, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dearly loved friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, William Lewis and Tracy Lillie (Taylor) Peters; brother, Samuel Peters; sisters, Edna Jackson, Lorene, Betty Gibson, Rebecca Cole, Ester Nelson; son, Edwin Leon LeFlore; grandsons, Gerald LeFlore, Kevin Gibson, Travis LeFlore; great grandsons, Christian Sanders, Johnny Tyler LeFlore
