IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lloyd Leon
Vinson
September 8, 1948 – December 27, 2015
Lloyd Leon "Butch" Vinson, Jr. was born on September 8, 1948, in Atoka, Oklahoma to Lloyd Leon "Jack" Vinson, Sr. and Dorothy Akers Vinson.
Butch accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. His education began at Dunbar Elementary School. He graduated from Atoka High School in May, 1967, where he had been a member of the football team. He then attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant for a short time before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1968. He was honorably discharged in January, 1971. After moving to the Oklahoma City area, Butch was employed by Fred Jones Automotive as a truck driver. He was recognized by the company with a "Million Miles Driven, Accident Free" award. This chapter of his life was closed with his retirement in 2011 after 20+ years of service.
Butch was a loving son, husband, brother, father, and grandfather. He married his friend, Rose, on June 29, 2000. Their commitment to God and each other was to blend their families. They established and maintained their home in Midwest City, Oklahoma, until his death.
