Lois Alene Cochran, age 92, an Atoka, OK resident. She was born on Thursday, March 22, 1934, to Odie and Bertha (Allen) Yates, at Lane, OK. Lois passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Atoka, OK.

Lois attended Iron Stob Elementary School and Atoka High School. Lois dedicated many years of service to the Bureau of Reclamation, where she was involved in soil testing projects, and helping build McGee Creek Reservoir. She retired in 1987.

She married Clifford D. Cochran on Saturday, April 12th, 1952 at Denison, TX.

Lois was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, sewing, and working on the farm with her husband in her younger years. She especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren. Lois was known for her love of family gatherings and cookouts. She had a special gift for making every meal memorable, and everything she prepared was made with love.

Lois is survived by her daughters, Teresa Sutton and husband Davey of Atoka, OK, Toni Brown of Atoka, OK; grandsons, Jody Goodson and wife Shanis of Atoka, OK, James Sutton and wife Brittany of Atoka, OK; granddaughter, Brandie Barton and husband Keith of Blue Ridge, TX; great granddaughters, Bryanna Barton and special friend Brian Minor of Blue Ridge, TX, Jillian Putman and husband Brayden of Wetumka, OK, Journey Sutton of Atoka, OK; great grandsons, Caden Goodson of Atoka, OK, Connor Sutton and wife Jalyn of Tupelo, OK, Wyatt Crow of Atoka, OK, Granger Crow of Atoka, OK; great great grandchildren, Jovie and Cyrus Sutton; brother, Doyle Yates of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Jeanie Smith of Atoka, OK, Karen Sands of Glenpool, OK; brother-in-law, Clyde Cochran; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Yates, Betty Cochran. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many loved ones.

Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford D. Cochran; parents, Odie and Bertha (Allen) Yates; brothers, Odis Yates, Rell Yates, Noah Carl Yates; sister, Edith Lorene Eaves.
