Lois Josephine Coppedge, age 100, a longtime Ardmore, OK resident formerly of Atoka, OK. She was born on Tuesday, June 2, 1925, to James and Sylvia Lucinda (Kelly) Thomas, at Ozark, AR. Lois passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Ardmore, OK. She attended school. Lois was a housewife and homemaker, she was also a cook at different schools and restaurants. She married Charles Ray Coppedge on March 8th, 1949 in West Texas. They celebrated 39 years of marriage before his passing in October 1988. Lois attended First Baptist Church. She enjoyed making quilts, cloth dolls, (cabbage patch dolls), taking care of her inside plants, and being with her family.
Lois is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Diggs and husband Mike of Ardmore, OK, Deborah McLarty of Ardmore, OK; son, Leslie Coppedge of Beaumont, TX; granddaughters, Laura Lee Shelton of Ardmore, OK, Kaylynn Smith of Durant, OK, Cheryl Sheffield and husband Dustin of Moulton, AL, Lois Ann Harris and husband Steve of Okolona, MS; grandson, Jason Shelton and wife Jennifer of Texas; niece, Bonnie Lou Dickerson and husband John of Coffeeville, KS; along with great and more grandchildren, and many extended family and loved friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, James and Sylvia Lucinda (Kelly) Thomas; husband, Charles Ray Coppedge; daughters, Carolyn Shelton, Donna Light, Sylvia Harris; son, David Coppedge; along with grandchildren and other family who have passed.
