Louise Katherine Granger, age 81, a longtime Atoka and Wilson Community, OK resident, was born on Thursday, September 19, 1940, to Elmer Sylvester and Elsie Jane (Hicks) Woods, at Wilson Community, OK. Louise passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Atoka, OK. She attended Wilson and Wapanucka Public Schools. Louise worked with a credit bureau in Dallas and was church secretary for First Baptist Church of Corsicana, TX for 11 years and 6 years for First Baptist Church of Atoka. She also worked at First Insurance. She married Arthur Granger on Friday, July 6th, 1957 at Durant, OK. They celebrated 65 years of marriage before her passing. Louise was a longtime member and church secretary of First Baptist Church of Atoka, was a Pink Lady at Atoka Hospital, member of the Senior Ladies Choir group at First Baptist Church Close Harmony Group, loved to sing, needle work, sewing, cross stitching, cooking and being a wife, mother and grandmother.
Louise is survived by her husband, Arthur Granger of the home in Atoka, OK; children, Don Granger and wife Carolyn of Elk River, MN, Marty Granger and wife Mary of Pelion, SC, Lloyd Granger of Claremore, OK, Steve Granger and wife Lisa of Austin, TX, Krystia Sparks of Canton, GA; grandchildren, Amber, James, Maria, Tiffani, Justin, Kaylee, Krystia Katherine, Tyler, Baylie, Midori; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Neva Nichols and husband Toney of Wapanucka, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Sylvester and Elsie Jane (Hicks) Woods; granddaughter, Lauren Granger; siblings, Harold "Woody" Woods, Margie Cantrell, Lois Patrick, Nadine Woods; nephew, Doug Woods.
