Shields
June 18, 1959 – December 11, 2021
Lucky Shields was born June 18th, 1959 to Helen Alberta (Robinson) Crawford and Floyd John Shields Sr.. He was raised in Atoka and attended Atoka Public School. Lucky played football and ran track for Atoka High School. After high school, Lucky enlisted in the Air National Guard and served several years. Lucky recently worked many years at McDonald's and retired due to knee issues. Lucky had no children of his own, but helped raise all his nieces and nephews. He considered them all his responsibility and even helped with their kids. Lucky was loved by all and never met a stranger. Lucky made everyone feel loved and special; giving all their own nickname. Anyone he met, he gave a nickname. Lucky was a huge sports fan. His favorite teams were the OU Sooners and Pittsburg Steelers. Lucky's favortie musician was Prince and he could be seen walking with his ear buds (Apple only) in listening to him all the time. He was very good with technology; always assisting the family with tvs, phones, ect.
Lucky was preceded in death by his mother Helen Crawford; father, Floyd Shields Sr.; four older brothers, Clifford Madden, Floyd Shields Jr., Eugene Dearl Shields and Jimmie Leroy Crawford; two older sisters, Ruby Walters and Gloria Crawford.
He leaves to mourn his loss three older brothers; Stevie Shields of Atoka, OK, Crandell Shields and wife Gloria of North Richland Hills, TX, and Vanoy Shields of Atoka, OK; five older sisters, Vernola Daniels of Las Vegas, NV, Shirley Arnold, Helen Burdex, Janice McGee all of Atoka, OK, Sherry Brown of Oklahoma City, OK and one younger sister Kim Washington and husband Crandell of Stringtown, OK. Lucky also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews and friends. Lucky received his wings on December 11th, 2021.
