Margaret Darlene Hokett, age 87, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident. She was born on Friday, January 29, 1937, to Dan and Lillian (Fielding) McMichael, at Atoka County, OK. Darlene passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at her home in Atoka, OK surrounded by her loved ones. She attended grade school at Maytubby and continued at Kenefic High School. Darlene worked at the Oak Ridge Manor and the Peanut Mill in Durant, OK. She was a rancher and a homemaker. She married Carl Ray Hokett on Monday, August 24th, 1953 at Durant, OK. They celebrated over 67 years of marriage before his passing on July 3, 2021. Darlene was baptized at home by Rev. Vic Cook of the Hopewell Baptist Church and attended there for years. She loved her cows, flowers and gardening, reading, doing crossword puzzles, fishing and her kids and grandkids.
Darlene is survived by her children, Keith Hokett and wife Anita of Voca, OK, Alecia Cook of Edmond, OK, Rhonda Richardson of Voca, OK; grandchildren, Angela Paris and husband Marion of Folsom, OK, Kalem Hokett and wife Candy of Sherman, TX, Danny Hokett and wife Maribel of Colbert, OK, Barry Cook and wife Jennifer of Durant, OK, Tisa Parson and husband Chris of Edmond, OK, Cody Cook and wife Mary of Wapanucka, OK, Jason Springer and wife Jessica of Caney, OK, Brian Springer of Caney, OK; great grandchildren, Auston, Haydon, Landis, McKayla, Kennon, Maggie, Kaleb, Bethany, Makalya, Shane, Zach, Lorena, Eric, Tyler, Lydia, Abby, Sydney, K.C., Lexi, Jackie, Cody Lee, Dempsey, Felicity; 11 great great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Lillian (Fielding) McMichael; husband, Carl Hokett; siblings, Imogene, Cora, Helen and B.J.; sons in law, Clay Cook, Kenneth Richardson.
