Margaret 'Lou' Lutricia Mitchell, age 79, an Atoka, OK resident, was born on Friday, June 11, 1943, to Benjamin and Daisy Lorene (Riddle) Williams, at Oakland, CA. Lou passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Tulsa, OK. She graduated from Wapanucka High School in 1960, later she attended Murray State College receiving her Associate's Degree in 1962, Southeastern State College for her Bachelor's degree in 1964, and Southeastern Oklahoma State University for her Master's Degree in 1991. Lou taught briefly at Caney and Tushka Schools before teaching at Harmony for 25 years. Lou enjoyed painting, reading, playing bridge along with other games and puzzles, bowling, cooking, and sewing.
Lou is survived by her son, Tony Mitchell and wife Shelley of Choctaw, OK; daughter, Shelley Teague and husband Kent of Tulsa, OK; grandsons, Ethan Mitchell of Oklahoma City, OK, Caleb Mitchell of Oklahoma City, OK, Austin Teague of Tulsa, OK, Eric Teague of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter, Hannah Mitchell of Pueblo, CO; great grandson, Alexander Mitchell of Oklahoma City, OK; siblings, Ben WIlliams and wife Kristi of Atoka, OK, Radona Lada and husband Greg of Wichita, KS, Martin Williams and wife Nita of Sand Springs, OK; special cousin, Mary Watson of Atoka, OK; ex-husband, Wayne Mitchell of Muskogee, OK, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear and loved friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Daisy Lorene (Riddle) Williams; beloved cousins, James Williams, Paula James; dear friend, Doug Haney
