Margaret Alleene (Doherty) Prater, age 77, a Choctaw, OK resident, was born on Wednesday, February 11, 1942, to James Dee and Kathleen Ava Nell (Jenkins) Doherty, at Bearden, AR. Margaret passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the hospital in Midwest City, OK. She attended Bearden School. Margaret was a homemaker and housewife.
Margaret married Harvie LaVon French on March 3rd, 1958. They celebrated 43 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on November 2, 2001. She married Tommy Prater on Saturday, March 28th, 2009 at Choctaw, OK. He preceded her in death on August 4, 2019. They celebrated 10 years of marriage. Margaret was a Christian. She enjoyed crocheting cooking and loved taking care of her grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by her children, Danny French and wife Teresa of Matlock, WA, Terry French and wife Lisa of Chandler, OK, LaVonda French of Choctaw, OK, David Armstrong of Milwaukie, OR; 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Doherty of Camden, AR; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, James Dee and Kathleen Ava Nell (Jenkins) Doherty; husbands, Harvie LaVon French, Tommy Prater; brothers, Bobby Doherty, William Doherty; sisters, Glenda Lambert, Ella-May Newman, Avanell Lupo.
