Obituary Margarita (Marquez) Moats, age 87, a McKinney, TX resident, was born on Sunday, February 22, 1925, to Rafael and Francisca (Alor) Marquez, at Salina Cruz, Veracruz, Mexico. Margarita passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at McKinney, TX. She graduated from high school in Taft, TX. Margarita then attended SOSU, the University of Texas, and later the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. where she received her Master's and PhD. Margarita was a Professor at the University of Kansas. She married Haddon S. Moats on June 19, 1954 at Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico. Margarita was of the protestant faith. She was an artist and created oil paintings and sculptures. Margarita was a member of the art club at SOSU. She enjoyed traveling and listening to music. Margarita is survived by her husband, Haddon Moats of McKinney, TX.; daughters, Amy Bradford-Robin and husband Bernard Robin of Richmond, TX., Margaret (Moats) Sheikhi and husband Richard of Los Angeles, CA. area; grandchildren, Christen Marie Leach of Houston, TX., Andrew Warren Leach of Houston, TX., Amir Sheikhi of San Antonio, TX., Andre Sheikhi of Los Angeles, CA. area; sisters, Cristina Marquez of Mexico City, Mexico, Elizabeth Callan of Houston, TX.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
