Marilyn June Phillips, age 62, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was born on Monday, March 12, 1956, to Richard Lynn and Jewell Loretta (Armstrong) Garton, at Oklahoma City, OK. Marilyn passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at her home Atoka, OK surrounded by her loved ones.  She attended Bentley Elementary, graduated Atoka High School in 1974, then went on to attend Oklahoma Christian College, and Kiamichi Vo-Tech. Marilyn was a housekeeper. She married Jimmy Wayne Phillips on Monday, November 17th, 1997 at Eureka Springs, AR. They enjoyed 21 wonderful years together. Marilyn attended Life Community church in Ada and Church of Christ in Atoka. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, baking Christmas cookies and loved spending time with her family.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Jimmy Wayne Phillips of the home in Atoka, OK; daughter, Valerie McGovern and husband Wint of Atoka, OK; son, Aaron Schneider and wife Kellie of Alaska; grandchildren, Alex McGovern of Atoka, OK, Evenlyn McGovern of Atoka, OK, Sierrah Schneider of Atoka, OK,  Ethan Schneider of Alaska, Tyler Schneider of Alaska, Natalie Schneider of Alaska, Annie Schneider of Alaska; twin sister, Carolyn Wheeler of Atoka, OK; stepson,  Peter Phillips and wife Misty of Atoka, TN; stepdaughters, Rebecca Hale and husband David of Crystal, OK, Naomi Phillips of Florence, OR; grandchildren, Levi, Cidney, Travis Phillips of Atoka, TN, Justin, Cassie, Jake McGuire of Atoka, OK; great grandsons, Elijah McGuire of Atoka, OK, Joshua Hale of Atoka, OK; along with nieces, nephews, lots of cousins, aunts, uncles, and many dear and loved friends.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Richard Lynn and Jewell Loretta Garton; grandparents, Otah Armstrong and Verlie Jane Leeper Armstrong.
