January 7, 1941 – April 17, 2022
Marilyne A. Hinkle, age 81, of Atoka County, passed away April 17, 2022, surrounded by loved ones, in her home after a battle with illness.
Born on January 7, 1941, in Los Angeles, CA. Marilyne married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Roger Hinkle in May 2010. After graduating from Shasta High School, she had a long and productive career, initially working for Aerojet and then at the capitol of the state of California as a secretary and personnel assistant for government agencies. She was beautiful both inside and out! She was a finalist in the Miss Universe pageant in 1960 and was a member of the Sacramento Rockettes. Marilyne enjoyed golfing, dancing, skydiving, and was passionate about animals and sports cars. She led a very active life. Marilyne was president of the United Sports Car Club in Sacramento, CA, and was a member of the South Side Baptist Church of Atoka.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Jerry Hinkle; sister-in- laws, Marilyn Thompson (Steve) and Tina Campbell; her sons, Joseph Hinkle (Sandy) and Nathan Hinkle; daughter, Jerry Doerzbacher (John); 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Marilyne is predeceased by her parents, Juanita Litvin (Dr. Lewis) and Stan Campbell; brother, Norman Campbell; sister-in-law, Deanna Harkleroad.
