Mario Latrell Shields, a resident of  Ft. Worth, TX, age 37, was born to Greg Brown and Cheryl Jean Shields on Monday, July 19, 1982,  in McAlester, OK. Mario passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at his home Ft. Worth, TX. He graduated from Duncanville High School. Mario's faith was very important to him. He was of Christian faith and a long time member of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. Mario was actively involved with speech and debate in the DFW area for 15+ years as a judge and instructor. Mario touched the lives and hearts of many students young and old through his love and passion for speech and debate. He was well liked in the debate community for his kindness and eagerness to teach students the art of debate.
Another passion of Mario's was baking. He loved baking desserts of all kinds, especially cupcakes and cookies, the recipes passed down from prior generations. Mario was a proud independent business partner with Amway Global and enjoyed attending leadership development seminars with his fellow Amway business partners. Mario was an animal lover especially his late fur baby Marvel. Mario worked many years as a server in the restaurant industry as well as a longtime consultant with MaLaSh marketing. Mario had a love of books. He had a terrific sense of humor and a big heart. He will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege to have known him.

Mario leaves behind his mother, Cheryl Brooks of Hurst, TX brother Marcus Shields, wife Michele and children Tatyana and Maleah (Fort Worth, TX) Morgan Shields and children Mashawn and Makiah (Bedford, TX) Father Greg Brown (McAlester, OK) sister Cassandra Brown and children Jason Brown, Hailey Brown, Chasity Young, Keyiera Brown, Kameron Brown and Danielle Crawford (McAlester, OK) Aunts Chris Douglas (Calera, OK) Sonya Matthews, husband Lorenzo (Fort Worth, TX) Twilla McGee (Atoka, OK) Gladys Buie (McAlester, OK) Nancy Rockwell (McAlester, OK) Jackie Brown (McAlester, OK) Linda Littles (Wewoka, OK) Uncles Richard Shields wife Charlotte (Denver, CO) Terry Shields (Atoka, OK) Derry Shields wife Sylvia (Fort Worth, TX) Crandall Shields wife Gloria (NRH, TX) Venoy Shields (Atoka, OK) Veryl Shields wife Patty (Norman, OK) Donald Brown wife Sherry (McAlester, OK) Melvin Brown (McAlester, OK) John Wayne Brown (San Diego, CA); along with many other family and dear friends.

Mario was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Callie Shields, Arenzy and Hattie Brown; uncles, Bruce Shields, Arenzy Brown Jr. (Bronco), Jimmy Brown; aunts, Joyce Huddleston, Lynnett Harrison, Marie Brown.
