Marleta Joyce Hardman, age 63, a longtime Atoka, OK resident who was raised in Moore, OK and moved to Atoka when she was a Sophomore in high school. She was born on Wednesday, February 19, 1958, to Ray and Marlene June (Hartman) Carroll, at Oklahoma City, OK. Marleta passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Atoka, OK.
She attended school in Moore, OK and graduated from Atoka High School and then went on to get her Master's degree from SOSU in Durant, OK. Marleta taught Kindergarten and special education at Tushka for 20 years. She also worked for Elwood Dept Store and OSU Extension office for Grant Praytor. She married Raymond Hank Williams on May 28, 1976 in Atoka, OK. She later married Dan Hardman on Friday, January 18th, 1991 at Wapanucka, OK. They celebrated 30 years of marriage before her passing. Marleta was a longtime Penn and A Church of Christ member and for the last 31 years attended Wapanucka Church of Christ. She was a Sunday School teacher, was responsible for arranging and organizing the classes, was a rancher and enjoyed tending cows, loved riding horses, visiting people, sewing, keeping her son in law in line and most of all enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.
Marleta is survived by her husband, Dan Hardman of the home in Atoka, OK; children, Mindy Cochran and husband Clay of Newcastle, OK, Amy Bolin and husband Brandon of Atoka, OK, Kelly Hardman and wife Donna of Atoka, OK, Karl Hardman and wife Michelle of Atoka, OK, Kisa Castleberry and husband Scott of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Larae Bolin of Atoka, OK, Mason Cochran of Newcastle, OK, Milo Cochran of Newcastle, OK, Latosha Safe of Atoka, OK, Tyra Eubank and husband Josh of Mannsville, OK, Tuff Hardman and wife Tori of Atoka, OK, Dylan Castleberry and wife Sheldyn of Achille, OK, Dakota Hardman of Tulsa, OK, Trace Hardman of Atoka, OK, Tess Daniel and husband Wyatt of Atoka, OK, Nick Castleberry of Atoka, OK; 10 great grandchildren; special friends, Mary Morgan, Becky Estep, Camri Faulkenberry, Alex Horton; siblings, Raylene Buren and husband Steve of Piedmont, OK, Malinda Calvert and husband Robert D. of Atoka, OK, Glenn Carroll and wife Connie of Atoka, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Marleta was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Carroll and Marlene June (Hartman) Carroll; in laws, Frank Hardman and Minnie Hardman; paternal grandparents, Oran and Ethel Carroll; maternal grandparents, SJ and Malinda Iris Hartman.
