OBITUARY

NAME: Martha Marie (Arabie) Lansdale, age 80, a Sherman, OK resident.

BORN: She was born on March 4, 1937, to Pearl Inez Hebert, at Fenton, LA. Her birth certificate erroneously lists my date of birth as Thursday, February 4, 1937. As confirmed by me maternal grandparents, mother, and older siblings, my actual date of birth is the "March" reference.

PASSED AWAY: Martha passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Sherman, TX.

AGE:  80 years, 5 months and 2 days.

EDUCATION: Grades 1 through 6, 8, 9, 11, and 12 were attended at Fenton High School where she graduated in May 1955. The seventh and tenth grades were attended in Augusta, GA. Twenty one combined college credits were attained from Palomar College in San Marcos, CA and East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, TX.

OCCUPATION: Martha supervised elementary school students on the playground at Vista, CA. She was a library assistant and manager for these San Diego County Branch libraries; Vista, Encinitas, and library headquarters in San Diego, CA for 5 years. Martha worked for the city of Vista, CA as mayor's secretary, vasious accounting positions, and Deputy City Treasurer for 14 years. She was also accounts payable manager and library coordinator for Technical Processing in the cataloging department for East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, TX for 9 years.

MILITARY: Martha proudly served her country in The U.S. Marine Corps.

CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: During 1966-1989 she was a member of North Vista Baptist Church in Vista, CA. 1989 to present Martha was a member of Central Baptist Church in Marshall, TX.

HUSBAND:  Johnny B. Lansdale of the home in Sherman, TX

DAUGHTER:  Debra Ann White and husband Kennard of Sherman, TX

SON:  Johnny Guy Lansdale of Sherman, TX

HALF BROTHERS: Alvin R. Hodgikins and wife Irene of Roy, WA

Alcee J. Vidrine and wife yvonne of Elton, LA

Tonas L. Vidrine of Elton, LA

HALF SISTER: Olivia M. Hanks and husband  Johnny Crowley, LA

along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
