Mary Ann McGee, age 95, a lifelong Stringtown and Coal, OK resident. She was born on Wednesday, December 21, 1927, to Martin and Mattie (Byington) Kemp, at Coal County, OK. Mary passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Durant, OK. She attended school at Lehigh-Phillip Grade School and Stringtown School. Mary was a nurse's aide. She married Earl McGee on Wednesday, June 21, 1944 when she was just 17 years old. They enjoyed 59 1/2 years of marriage before his passing on August 5, 2003. Mary Ann was a member of St. Matthews Baptist in Stringtown. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, growing flowers, especially Ivys, Ferns and Aloe Vera, collecting collectables, taking care of Molly, Sugar, Peanut, her Chichiwawas. Her favorite color was Blue.
Mary Ann is survived by her children, Kenneth McGee Sr. of Stringtown, OK, Edward McGee and wife Pat of Stringtown, OK, Marvin Eugene McGee and wife Barbara of Antlers, OK, Robert Lewis McGee and wife Diane of Atoka, OK, Wilma McGee of Stringtown, OK, Phillip McGee of Stringtown, OK, Steve McGee of Atoka, OK, Winston McGee of Stringtown, OK, Todd McGee of Stringtown, OK, ; daughters in law, Janice McGee of Atoka, OK, Twyla McGee of Atoka, OK; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Mattie (Byington) Kemp; husband, Earl McGee; children, Infant Boy, Timothy Wayne, Ronald, Dennis, Wallace, Queen Ester; brother, Randolph Kemp; grandchildren; daughter in law, Brigidia Lane.
