Mary Francis Mead

Mary Francis Mead, age 86, a Gore, OK resident, formerly a longtime Atoka County resident. She was born on Wednesday, July 10, 1940, to Joe Argus "J.A." and Edna Mae (Payton) Forrest, at Quinton, OK. Mary passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at her home in Gore, OK. She graduated from Atoka High School in 1958. Mary was a lab tech at the hospital and doctor's office. She married the love of her life, Autry G. Mead on Monday, September 19th, 1960 at Stringtown, OK. They celebrated over 38 years of marriage before his passing on May 22, 1999. Mary was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing games, and doing her Bible studies.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Angie Evans and husband Walter of Gore, OK, Christy Mead and Amanda Pounds of Gore, OK; brother, Jim Bill Forrest and wife Mona of Pryor, OK; sisters, Sondra Vaught and Bobbie of Republic, MO, Noretta Jean Livesay of Stigler; grandson, Travis Evans of Atoka County, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, JA Forrest; mother, Edna Mae Snow; step mother, Ione "Onie" Forrest; love of her life, Autry Mead; grandson, Cody Evans; brother, Dee Forrest; sister, Bennie Joe Fuller; and many other family and friends.
