Mattie Bea Nichols, age 52, a Oklahoma City resident since 1998, formerly an Atoka resident since the age of four, was born on December 10, 1965, to Sandy Lee and Irene (Riley) Nichols, at Hayti, MO. Mattie passed away on January 21, 2018 at Oklahoma City, OK. She attended Caney Grade School and then attended and graduated from Atoka Public School. Mattie was a CNA for the nursing homes. She was affiliated with Fairview Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Mattie loved bingo and casinos and loved being with her kids and grandkids. Mattie enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Mattie is survived by her children, Cody Nichols of Oklahoma City, OK, Sandie Leann Nichols of Atoka, OK, David Nichols of Oklahoma City, OK; grandson she raised, Co'Maree Nichols of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Nakira, Marquinn, Jacielle, Jayden, Anthony, Cody, Isaiah, SaMyra, Brooklyn, JaQuayvion, Layla; sisters, Delois Owens of Oklahoma City, OK, Sandra West of Coffeyville, KS, Kasandra Nichols of Coffeyville, KS; brother, Louie Nichols of Atoka, OK; husband, Gregory Gaines of the home in Oklahoma City, OK; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Mattie is preceded in death by her parents, Sandy Lee and Irene Riley (Nichols) Nichols; brothers, Willie Riley, Robert Nichols, Charles Riley; sisters, Patricia Rice, Janice Walker, Dorothy Jean Nichols;
father of her children, David Lee Brooks.
