Melanie Ann Walker-Prince, age 64, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident. She was born on Thursday, May 26, 1960, to Kenneth Ray and Dovie (Combest) Walker, at Durant, OK. Melanie passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Denison, TX. She graduated from Tushka High School and went on to  receive her Master's Degree from SOSU in Computer Science. Melanie was a software engineer at Ft. Sill. She married David Prince on Wednesday, July 2nd, 1980 at Durant, OK. They celebrated 44 years of marriage before her passing. Melanie enjoyed reading, creating stain glass, puzzles, computer games and loved spending time with her family.
Melanie is survived by her husband, David Prince of the home in Atoka, OK; son, Michael Prince of the home in Atoka, OK; parents, Kenneth and Dovie (Combest) Walker of Tushka, OK; siblings, Randy Walker and wife Donalda of Tushka, OK, Ranell Walker of Tushka, OK; cousins, Sharon Caldwell and husband Velton, Brenda Howell, Kris Hall, Stephanie Combest, Suzonne Wakely, Warren Combest, Darrell Beck, Darwin Beck; Walker cousins, Kayla and husband John, Krista and husband Rob, Rusty O'Hern, Jack Allen Walker, Tonya, Amber Blackburn, Jordan Blackburn, Justin, Cami D.; aunts and uncles, Linda Combest, Gearl Dean Hall and husband Jerry, Minnie Gammon, Vickie Blackburn and husband Roy, Thomas Walker and wife Sharon, Jack Walker and wife Thea, Sandra Cole and husband Gerald, Johnny South; brother in law, Johnny Jones; special friend, Tina; along with other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Melanie was preceded in death by her mother in law, Nelda Prince; aunts, Joyce Beck, Shirley Willis, Faye O'Horn; uncles, Tim Combest, Dwayne Combest, Perry Willis, Lonnie Walker; cousins, Roy Gammon, Janine Combest; grandparents, Clarence and Mary Walker, Nina and Lee Combest.
