Michael Joe Stricklen, age 71, an Atoka, OK resident, was born on Wednesday, January 2, 1952, to Willie and Bonnie Lucille (Green) Stricklen, at Lane, OK.Michael passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at his home in Atoka, OK. He graduated from McArthur High School in Coppell, TX with the class of 1970. Michael worked for Johnson Controls for 30 years before becoming a Vice President for United Auto Workers, and after retiring in 2017 he drove a truck for a couple of years. He married Crystal Stricklen on Friday, October 3rd, 1980 at Mesquite, TX. Michael was a member of Church of Christ and was baptized at Colbert Congregation. He was proud to be the Vice President of UAW and a member of the Elk's Lodge in Garland, TX. Michael loved to fish, hunt, watch OU and Dallas Cowboys football, and loved horse racing.
He is survived by his wife, Crystal Stricklen of the home in Atoka, OK; children, Daniel Stricklen of Atoka, OK, Stacy Stricklen of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Amy Burks and husband Jordan of Quinlan, TX, Haili Cottrell and husband PJ of Lehigh, OK, Clara Alaniz and husband Timothy of McAlester, OK, Tyrus Stricklen of Tushka, OK, Anna Jenkins of Atoka, OK; great grandchildren, Boston, Kaydince, Ella, Jasper, Lincoln, Penelope, Melanie, Khaleo; aunts and unlces, June Love of Mustang, OK, Buddy Ellis of Durant, OK; cousin, Steve Stricklen of Tushka, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear and loved friends
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Bonnie Lucille (Green) Stricklen; brother, Mark Stricklen
