Minnie Jean (Tavender) Bailey, age 63, an Atoka, OK resident, grew up in Coolidge, AZ where she attended school and lived in Texas during her upbringing and finally settled in Oklahoma in 1986 with her husband Wes. She was born on Friday, November 23, 1956, to Thomas Edward and Wanda Joyce (Morrow) Tavender, at Tucson, AZ. Minnie passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Norman, OK. She attended school in Coolidge AZ. Minnie was a housewife. She married Wes Bailey on Friday, March 1st, 1974 at Florence, AZ. They had 42 years of marriage before his passing on June 11, 2016. Minnie was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, anything to do with her grandchildren. Minnie had a passion for growing flowers. She made the best cinnamon candy that everyone would fight over and had the most amazing banana pudding. Minnie loved watching the kids play ball while cheering them on from the stands.
Minnie is survived by her sons, James Bailey Jr. and wife Crystal of Atoka, OK, Thomas Bailey and wife Candi of Atoka, OK, Bradley Bailey and Renauta of Hugo, OK; grandchildren, Zachary Bailey, Hunter Daniel, Brenden Bailey, Ryley Bailey, Talynn Bailey, Teryn Bailey, Tabytha Bailey, Wyatt Bailey, Wyley Bennett, Nikki Bailey and fiancé Bryce Cheadle, Michael Bailey, Kamdyn Bailey, Peyton Bailey, Cody Salazar and wife Holly, Stetson Salazar and wife Kate, Sierra Logue and husband Wayne, Destiny Howze and husband Tommy, Alexis Cansler and husband Bryce; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Debbie Burnett and husband Lee of Arizona, Joyce Bailey and husband Curtis of Oklahoma, Darla Farquhar and husband Darrell of Arkansas; along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Wanda Joyce (Morrow) Tavender; husband, Wes Bailey.
