OBITUARY NAME: Monroe Allen age 90, a lifetime Atoka area resident. BORN: He was born on March 21, 1920, to Isaac Bailey "I.B." and Martha (Davis) Allen, at Lane, Ok. PASSED AWAY: Monroe passed away on February 15, 2011, at Ada, Ok. AGE 90 YEARS 10 MONTHS AND 24 DAYS EDUCATION: He attended school at Iron Stob and Butler. OCCUPATION: Monroe owned and operated Monroe Allen Lumber Grain Sales from 1949-1986 and a rancher and farmer. MARRIED: He married Venita (Whitten) on May 19, 1940 at Broken Bow, Ok, she preceded him in October 10, 1976. Monroe married Kathy (Murray) on August 19, 1978 at Stonewall, Ok. CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES, AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: He was a longtime member and Deacon of Atoka First Baptist Church, a member of the Lions Club, and he served on the Board of Directors of the Atoka State Bank. Monroe was a member of the Atoka School Board, an avid sports fan of OU Sooners and Atoka Wampus Cats, and an avid FFA sponsor. SURVIVED BY WIFE: Kathy Allen of the home in Ada, Ok. CHILDREN: Phillip Allen and wife Pam of Atoka, Ok. Glenda Klingensmith and husband Tom of Atoka, Ok. Martha Barber and husband Don of Farris, Ok. Sue Allen and husband Tom of Plano, Tx. STEP-CHILDREN: Victor Murray and wife Darla of Ada, Ok. David Gray and wife Karen of Ada, Ok. Gregg Wallis and wife Diana Wallis of Ada, Ok. Daniel Murray of Ada, Ok. GRANDCHILDREN: 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren DAUGHTER-IN-LAW: Nancy Furr Allen Parrott of Oklahoma City, Ok. Along with numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and other relatives and friends.
