NAME: Nelda Joyce (Brown) Cook, age 75, a Coal County resident for 22 years.

BORN: She was born on January 3, 1942, to Sampie and Verna (Crow) Brown, at Wichita Falls, TX.

PASSED AWAY: Nelda passed away on February 3, 2017 at Coalgate, OK.

AGE:  75 years and 1 month.

EDUCATION: She attended and graduated school from Wichita Falls, TX.

OCCUPATION: Nelda owned and operated several businesses, a trucking co., & a flag car operator. She was also, a postal clerk at Clarita Post Office.

MARRIED: She married Lloyd Stoneking in 1961 at Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1983. She then married Oren Cook at Eufaula, OK in 1995, he survives of the home.

CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: Nelda was a member of the Methodist Church and later attended Church of Christ. Nelda wrote the Clarita news for the Coalgate Record Register. She enjoyed trucking, cooking, gardening, canning, ebay trading, casinos. She was very active in the Clarita Community Center and the dinners.

Daughter: Kristal Beard and husband Bill of Blanchard, OK

Grandchildren:  Amber Lair and husband Jeff of Midwest City, OK

Danae Stoneking of Bahama, NC

Sasha Zambrano and husband Jesse of Independence, OR

Kayla Stoneking of Oklahoma City, OK

Bob Beard and fiancée Kayla of Blanchard, OK

Great Grandchildren:  Taylor, Ryan, Gavin, Zain and Mateo

Brother:  Billie Brown of Iowa Park, TX

Stepchildren:  Steven Cook and wife Shonda of Miami OK

Sheila Cook of Broken Arrow, OK

Along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
