OBITUARY

NAME: Henry Nick Lolli, age 86, a Coalgate resident.

BORN: He was born on December 20, 1930, to Henry "Red" Lolli and Pauline (Maggia) Lolli, at Cottonwood, OK. His parents were Italian immigrants who came to Oklahoma to work in the Coal mines. He was very proud of his Italian heritage.

PASSED AWAY: Nick passed away on March 22, 2017 at Coalgate, OK.

AGE: 86 years, 3 months and 2 days.

EDUCATION: Nick attended Cottonwood & Coalgate schools. Nick loved all sports, but especially baseball and the Yankees. He was a quick shortstop who played on many teams in the area. He was selected, out of high school, to attend a tryout camp for the St. Louis Browns. Even though he wasn't drafted, he was very proud of the opportunity.

OCCUPATIONS: Nick's parents opened Red's Grocery in 1937. His dad passed away in 1940, when Nick was 9, That event started Nick's long career as a grocery man and butcher. Nick and his mother ran Red's until 1980. He continued to work in the business until his retirement. He enjoyed retirement, ranching with his father-in-law, Sherman Branom.

MILITARY: Nick was stationed at Thule Air Base, Greenland from 1952-1954.

MARRIED: Nick married Sherry Branom on Nov. 10, 1960 in Ada, Ok. They celebrated their 56th Anniversary this past November.
CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: Nick was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Coalgate, KP Redman Lodge, VFW and American Legion Post. He enjoyed ranching and gardening.

Aunt: Lena Leverenz of Chicago, IL

Brother-in-law: Bill Branom & wife Sue of Midwest City

Nephews: Mike Thomas, Nick Thomas & Bill McFall

Nieces: Barbara Smith, Nancy Golman, Beth O'Donnell, Susan Ison, Debbie Lyon & Stephanie Branom
